Regardsless which magazine you read some 30 years ago, they all agreed on one thing when testing the GTV6: The Alfa was a delightful and very capable sportscar. A highly advanced chassis, a transaxle layout with gearbox fitted to the rear axle for optimum 50\/50 weight distribution, De Dion rear axle and disc brakes moved inboards to reduce unsprung weight. Add to this the highly oversquare alloy 2.5 liter V6 with its sonorous sound and for several years reckoned the best V6 engine on the market. The GTV6 always came out as the journalists favourite among its competitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even today some thirty years later a GTV6 is a very rewarding car to drive. Of course not as silent as a modern luxury car at high speed cruising, but never the less very relaxing at high speeds. Cornering on twisty roads is outstanding and the GTV remains neutral and stable even when pressed to the limit of its roadholding ability. It gives the driver confidence and provides a very satifying experience. No wonder what all the fuss was about. The GTV6 has character – and lots of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1985 Alfa decided to make special version in limited numbers. Facelifts rarely do any favour to the original design. The young italian designer Rayton Fissore did however manage to implement a redesigned front spoiler with integrated fog lights, side skirts and rear spoiler into the Grand Prix version without compromising the elegant lines from master Giugiaro. This limited edition also features sun roof, A\/C and this particular sample also a gorgeous tan leather interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This black beauty was imported to Denmark from Sweden in 2005 with only 49.000 KM on the tacho. Except for a set of the highly sought after 7×15″ Ronal ‘Dial’ alloys with Pirelli P6000 and a exclusive Nardi wooden steering wheel, this GTV6 is original inside and out. Body is without rust and has never had an accident. Interior is also fully intact and extremely well kept, no cracks or holes from any fitted equipment. Mechanically this car is very well serviced by its experienced and competent Danish Alfa enthusiast. With now 99.000 KM on the tacho it still drives like a new car without a rattle or clonk anywhere. It needs nothing and with a new clutch and timining belt just fitted it is on the button ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To find a GTV6 in this condition is becoming increasingly difficult and to find a Grand Prix version as pristine as this is very difficult indeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
