Maserati Indy America 4700 - 1972

Maserati Indy America 4700 - 1972

The sleek Vignale designed Indy with the magnificent 4.7 liter V8 engine from the Ghibli looked very much like a 1960s supercar and indeed it was. The genius of the design with its low front with pop-up headlights , big airy cabin was that the strikingly beautiful lines gave room for 4 passengers and a reasonably amount of luggage. With a top speed of +250 km/h it was among the world’s fastest 4-seater cars in its days. The successful Indy was together with the Khamsin the last of the big naturally aspirated V8-engined traditional GT cars from Maserati.

This 1972 Indy came from Colorado to Denmark in 2008. It is the 4.7 liter America version with the new generation 5-speed ZF gearbox, 15” wheels and the new improved air conditioning system. It is basically an unrestored car. It has received a new paint though, but to a very standard. Interior is the original leather upholstery in top condition. There is a huge amount of documentation showing the history with service and maintenance over the years of this highly original car. This Indy 4700 must be one of the most attractive on the market. The color combo of metallic red with beige leather interior and the handsome version of the dashboard are quite beautiful. Engine and mechanics are in top condition and the car needs nothing with even the air conditioning fully working. A highly collectible Gran Tourer from the noble stable of Maserati with only 364 cars manufactured in 4.7 liter version.
