Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce – 1973

THIS CAR HAS BEEN SOLD THANK YOU

Compared to the mainstream competitors from MG and Fiat, the Alfa Romeo Spider was the choice of the discerning connoisseur when, in the 1960s and 70s, an open 2-seater sports car was on the wish list. The well-known “Nord” aluminum engine with double overhead camshafts, 2 double carburetors, 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes on all 4 wheels were all standard features for the model. In 1971 the powerful 2 liter engine with 131bhp, larger brakes and a 20% LSD on the rear axle arrived, all great optionals hard for the competitors to match. The Series 2 model, with its sharply cut Kamm rear end, is a masterpiece of classic Italian style and elegance, and you will feel the “La dolce vita” in every trip behind the steering wheel.

This specific car has previously lived with a few Danish Alfa enthusiasts, and has always been properly serviced. An extensive binder with documentation going all the way back to 1991, when the car was restored. The last owner had the car for 22 years, and the previous owner for over 10 years, so they have been happy with it. The car arrived to us earlier this year where it was still in great condition, and now after complete disassembly it has been given a quality paint job in classic Alfa Rosso and with black leather on the front seats. Mechanically, the car is powerful to drive, and a real pleasure on the country side roads. Nothing further to be done, it’s simply just waiting for it’s next caretaker to enjoy this classic open Alfa Romeo.
