Morgan Plus 4 – 1966

The Plus 4 has always been Morgans most sporty car and in the 1950es and 60es it was also the fastest. The powerful 2.2 liter Triumph TR3 engine gave the ligthweight sportscar excellent performance. Built on a chassis and with a wooden ash frame covered with handcrafted alloy panels the Morgan is century old traditional coachbuilding technique. The Morgan factory in Malvern, Worchestershire is the worlds oldest car manufacturer in private ownership.

Since its introduction i 1950 the Morgan Plus 4 has gained an almost iconic status. The production of the original Plus 4 came to and end in 1969, but the Plus 4 was revived in 2014. Despite time and era there seems to be a never endings demand through generations to experience the true British sportscar. Old fashioned, uncomfortable andvery rewarding. As Topgear wrote “the Plus 4 is as fine a British institution as cold showers and caning”.

A vast majority of post war British sportscar production went to the North American markets and this Plus 4 is no exception. In 1998 it was exported to Denmark where a complete “frame off” restoration was undertaken, including new ash framing. We have full picture documentation of this work. The car is  in top condition and all the small details and adjustments that always follows a complete restoration has been taken care of. It drives superb and as sharp as a Plus 4 should giving the most intense sportscar feeling this side of a Lotus Super 7. Old school charm at its best.
