Jaguar E-type Series 1 4,2 2+2 – 1967

When Jaguar introduced the E-Type at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961, the world was faced with a chock. Technically advanced, fast and fantastically beautiful with its long, low body and – for the Series 1 cars – the famous covered headlights. Enzo Ferrari was quoted saying that this was the most beautiful sports car produced. In 1964, the model was updated to a 4.2 liter engine, better gearbox with synchronization on all gears, as well as better seats. And in 1966 the more family friendly 2 + 2 arrived, of which we have an example of here. Still in the classic Series 1 version with covered headlights and toggle switches.

Our example originally comes from Florida, was exported to Sweden in 2009 and finally arrived in Denmark in 2019. Over the last few years, a lot of money has been spent on service, upgrades and technical maintenance, which makes the car a truly reliable and enjoyable driver. The engine pulls powerfully all the way up through the rev range, the road holding is great, and the brakes and suspension gives you the classic Gran Turismo experience in truly 60’s style. Add to that the sound of the large six cylinder engine and the picture is complete. The cabin present itself with the original leather in very good conditioning, dashboard is stunning, and the paintwork is in quite good condition considering the age. Car is with matching numbers engine and cylinder head.

This car is an opportunity to get a reliable and very usable classic first series E-type at a reasonable price.
