Porsche 930 3.3 – 1987

EUR 139,000

When Porsche introduced the Turbo in 1975 it became the first manufacturer to offer a turbo charged sportscar. Based on the 3 litres Carrera engine the power was increased to 260 bhp giving a performance that even the Italian supercars had difficulties to match. With the wide body and not least the now famous Turbo Wing the model quickly became an icon of style and a success was created. With the 1978 model Porsche improved the car, which now had a 3,3 litres engine with intercooler producing 300 bhp. The car was exceptionally fast and to match the power new 4 piston ventilated disc brakes origined from the famous 917 model were installed. Porsche kept the original 4 speed gearbox, which at that time was the only transmission strong enough to cope with the huge momentum from the engine.

This example was produced for the German market and has a mileage of only 72,000 km. A matching numbers car documented by CoA from Porsche. The car was recently restored for a total of 86,000 euro (bills available), including a full engine overhaul by well known Porsche workshop and new interior, beautifully made in black leather as delivered from the factory. In 2019 the car was repainted in original “Grand prix White” and the original RUF wheels were restored and fitted with new Michelin tires. In other words – the car is as close to perfect as you will find.

A powerfull car like this demands a skilled driver. After all, the model had a reputation of going sideways when the power reveving up passing 3,500 rpm and the turbo charger kicks in. And it is fast – really fast. Find a bit of German autobahn with “Freie Fahrt”, and you will discover the car is the perfect travel companion, cruising comfortably at 180 kph and still be able to power accelerate away from most other cars – even today 25 years after the car was produced. It is a classic, iconic air cooled Porsche with potential for much fun as well as future investment potential.

Delivered with German TUV and papers, ready to be enjoyed by its new fortunate owner.
