Fiat Abarth 1000 TC Corsa – 1970

From the mid sixties the Abarths were terrorising the small classes in European Group 2 races. Here we have a beautiful 1000 TC Corsa recreation built to high standards with all the correct bits and parts. It comes with FIA HTP and is eligible for all historic 1965-71, 0-1300 cc class events under FIA regulations.

This car just underwent a complete rebuild and restoration after a 15 year historic race career. It was taken complete apart to empty body shell. After body work that included fitting the correct front fender extensions, it received a new paint in Abarth grey and was left clean for buyers personal decals.

The list of mechanical upgrades is long. Engine is the correct A1 block with bore/stroke 66/74mm (some uses the larger A112 A2 or A5 engines as basis, but none of these are legal for FIA events). The 982cc engine has a compression ratio of 11.5:1 and is built with Abarth steel crank and Berni Motori 289 deg camshaft with roller bearings. It has the correct Abarth modified oil lubrication direct from oil gallery to distributor drive. All moving parts are balanced. Carburettor is Weber 36/36 DCD7. Clutch is Sachs 160mm Racing and gearbox is close ratio with 8:39 differential. Reinforced engine mount on rear panel.

Front has lower cross member with A-arms in steel, front stabilizer. Rear has new swingarms with new bearings and shock couplings. Brakes on all 4 wheels are Girling 3-pot calipers with Ferodo Racing pads on 236.5 mm discs. These brakes are the only correct brake upgrade according to homologation and costs €5.000 – per axle! Wheels are period steel wheels 7″ in front and 8″ rear.

Equipped with brand new Sparco racing seat, a new 6-point Sparco harness with turnbuckle quick release, new fire extinguisher. Instrumentation is Stack and Mera Lumel.

This screaming little bombshell is one of the fastest Abarths in Scandinavia . It goes like stink with an incredible sound and depending on gearing it is capable of a top speed of close to 200kph. After rebuild the engine has had a 3 x 20 min brake-in run and fine tuning.

The car comes with an extensive racing history during the past 20 years. It is turn key and on the button ready and would make a highly competitive contender for all small class international events.
